The Pheasant is a stunning combination of metallic blue and scalloped plumage. This special bird is much larger than other Toikka creations and is distinctive in many ways. The wings are clear glass over a dark speckled pattern and the head and beak are clear glass. This is a firm favourite amongst collectors.

Designed by the internationally renowned Finnish artist Oiva Toikka, who has won many awards for his original and unique artistry. Professor Oiva Toikka’s apparently limitless imagination, combined with a sophisticated knowledge of glass, has made it possible for him and his team of glassblowers to create small miracles of life from glass for over 30 years.

Birds is more than a collection of artifacts, it is a collection of stories. The shape of some birds are inspired by nature, others are created in the mind of the artist. Every bird has its own character and tells a different story.

Toikka's birds are handmade in Nuutajärvi, Finland. The creation of the birds demands great technical and artistic insight from the glassblowers.
